American League All-Star starters are the top vote-getters among ballots cast by fans. Starting pitchers and reserves marked by an asterisk were chosen by a vote of the players, coaches and managers. American League All-Star manager Joe Torre, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, selected the other pitchers and reserves.
