DENVER -- Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Monday and is expected back in time for spring training.
The team said surgeons removed material from the elbow, which Helton injured last week during a workout. He bats left-handed.
General manager Dan O'Dowd called it a "minor proecedure" and said Helton was expected to miss only about two weeks.
Helton, 32, batted .320 with 20 home runs and 79 RBI in 144 games last season.
