Padres claim Anderson off waivers from Yankees

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres claimed pitcher Jason
Anderson off waivers from the New York Yankees on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old right-hander was 1-0 with a 7.94 ERA in three
games with the Yankees last season and went 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA and
10 saves in 55 games with Triple-A Columbus of the International

To clear a roster spot, San Diego designated right-hander Kenny
Baugh for assignment. The Padres have 10 days to trade him, place
him on waivers or send him outright to the minors. Baugh was 12-8
with a 3.38 ERA last season for Triple-A Toledo of the
International League.
