SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Former major league shortstop Pat Listach was hired Thursday to manage the Double-A Tennessee Smokies, a Chicago Cubs farm team.
Listach moves to the Smokies after serving as manager for the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx last season, his first year as a minor league manager. The Jaxx went 75-65.
Listach was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers from Arizona State in 1988 and was voted the 1992 AL Rookie of the Year.
