If inclined, Yankees would need Rocket's OK on trade

Years have passed since the last time the Yankees have been sellers at the trade deadline, and while they are sliding swiftly in the standings, it's unlikely they will do so this year, either.

But if they ever reached the point where they wanted to move salary, Roger Clemens will not be among the players they could move without permission.

The 44-year-old Clemens has a no-trade clause in his contract negotiated for this season, according to sources. He is expected to make his first start for the Yankees on Monday in Chicago against the White Sox.

If Clemens is put on the major league roster Monday, he would receive $18,207,665 this season, a prorated share of his $28,000,022 salary.
