Floyd sits against Yankees with sore right knee
NEW YORK -- Tampa Bay designated hitter Cliff Floyd was scratched from the Rays' lineup Monday night because of a sore right knee.
Floyd was originally scheduled to bat fifth against the New York Yankees. Right fielder Eric Hinske and third baseman Willy Aybar each moved up a spot, and Jonny Gomes took Floyd's place as the designated hitter. Gomes hit seventh.
Floyd, who went deep Friday night, is batting .333 with two homers and five RBIs in four games this year.
The Rays lost to the Yankees 6-1.
