A's closer Street claimed off waivers but no deal reached
Oakland closer Huston Street was claimed on waivers by multiple teams, but the pitcher will remain with the Athletics, according to sources.
A team that is not currently in contention was awarded the waiver claim, and brief trade talks between that team and Oakland did not result in a deal.
Street leads the A's with 18 saves, six blown saves and 4.20 ERA. The White Sox were rumored to be in talks with the former 2005 AL Rookie of the Year but nothing materialized.
Street has a 2-5 record in 49 1/3 innings for the A's in 2008.
