Weaver scratched from start Tuesday because of cuts on hand; Santana to fill in
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Angels' Jered Weaver was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday night against the New York Yankees because of cuts on the middle and ring fingers of his right pitching hand.
Right-hander Ervin Santana (15-5) will start in place of Weaver (10-10), who was scratched from Friday's start against the Chicago White Sox for the same reason. Weaver cut his fingers on staples under the dugout bench at Detroit during last week's series there.
