ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Cleveland Indians have purchased the contracts of pitchers David Huff and Greg Aquino from Triple-A Columbus.

Huff made his major league debut as Sunday's starter against Tampa Bay. Aquino will work out of the bullpen.

To make room on the roster, Cleveland optioned reliever Tony Sipp and outrighted right-hander Masa Kobayashi to Columbus.

Left-hander Scott Lewis was transferred from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list so Aquino could be added to the 40-man roster. Lewis is out with a left elbow injury.

Also, struggling Indians leadoff hitter Grady Sizemore was out of the starting lineup Sunday. He started the day hitting .220 with seven homers and 25 RBIs in 37 games.

Cleveland doesn't play Monday, which means Sizemore will get two days off.

"He's going through a tough time right now," Indians manager Eric Wedge said. "He puts a lot of responsibilty on his shoulders."

Wedge believes Sizemore is getting close to breaking out of the hitting funk. Sizemore had a solo homer on Friday.

"I think we're seeing some signs of it," Wedge said.

Asdrubal Cabrera was leading off in Sizemore's place.
