MILWAUKEE -- Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has left a game against the St. Louis Cardinals after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch in the third inning.

After the Brewers' 8-1 loss, manager Ken Macha said that X-rays were negative but that Braun will be evaluated before Wednesday's series finale.

Braun played the field in the fourth, but did not get another at-bat and left before the fifth. He was replaced by Frank Catalanotto with St. Louis leading 5-1.

Braun did not appear seriously shaken when he was hit by a fastball from Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright on Tuesday night. Braun came in hitting .325 with eight homers and 31 RBIs in 43 games this year.
