Cecil has been out since he hurt his left knee when he fell trying to field a bunt on Aug. 8 against Baltimore. The rookie left-hander is 5-1 with a 4.35 ERA in 13 games, 12 starts, this season.
Cecil took part in fielding drills and had a bullpen session Sunday, and Toronto manager Cito Gaston says he's ready to go.
Also, left-hander Scott Downs, on the disabled list with a toe injury, practiced defense and had a mound session. But Gaston says the reliever is not ready to be reinstated from the DL.
