TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays are taking the interim tag off Paul Beeston's title.

He was appointed president and CEO of the club and Rogers Centre for a three-year term Tuesday.

Beeston took over from Paul Godfrey on an interim basis in October 2008. He said he didn't want the job full-time, noting it demanded someone willing to make a 5-to-10 year commitment.

But team owner Rogers Communications Inc., encouraged him to take the permanent job.
