ELVIS ANDRUS, SS, TEXAS

Andrus was arguably one of the AL's best defensive shortstops and kept improving at the plate, hitting .280 with a .702 OPS in the second half.

ANDREW BAILEY, RHP, OAKLAND

One of the year's surprises, Bailey was first in batting average against (.167), second to only Mariano Rivera in ERA (1.84), and finished the year with 21 straight saves.

RICK PORCELLO, RHP, DETROIT

In only his second year of pro ball, the 20-year-old Porcello led all MLB rookies in victories (14) and got stronger down the stretch (6-3, 3.77 ERA in second half).
