Tracy still questioning balk on Morales
WASHINGTON -- A day later, Rockies manager Jim Tracy is still steamed about a balk call during the ninth inning of a loss to the Braves and what he believes is a "misinterpretation" of reliever Franklin Morales' pickoff move.
Tracy said Monday that the Rockies sent footage of Morales to Major League Baseball's New York office during spring training after another balk ruling -- but they're still waiting for a "clarification."
The manager says each umpire interprets the balk rule differently because it's not "clear-cut, black and white."
In Colorado's 4-3 loss to Atlanta on Sunday, one umpire initially called a balk on fill-in closer Morales, then rescinded the call. Later, another balk call against Morales stood.
