Beltran had hoped to be running around April 10 after having Jan. 13 surgery for an arthritic knee to remove damaged cartilage.
"That's kind of unfortunate," Mets manager Jerry Manuel said regarding Beltran not being cleared. "What we have to do is we have to continue to play the way we have the last three or four games and hope that Carlos begins to recover quickly. I mean, he's obviously an integral part."
The Mets also stated that Ryota Igarashi suffered a strained left hamstring and will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.
