Phillies' Kendrick sent to Triple-A

ST. LOUIS -- Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick has been sent to the minors, a day after giving up three home runs in one inning.
Kendrick squandered leads of 3-0 and 4-2 in an 8-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night and was sent to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday. The right-hander is 5-4 with a 4.82 ERA in 20 starts.
Right-hander Andrew Carpenter was recalled from Lehigh Valley.
In the fifth inning of Monday night's game, Kendrick allowed home runs to Albert Pujols, Allen Craig and Skip Schumaker.
