Braves' Martin Prado placed on DL

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves put second baseman Martin Prado on the 15-day disabled list Monday retroactive to July 31 and recalled infielder Diory Hernandez from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Prado fractured his right pinky while sliding home safely in the 10th inning of Friday night's 6-4 win at Cincinnati.

Prado is hoping to return when he is eligible. He is having the finger iced and the swelling is supposed to be down within a day or two.

Prado was hitting .315 with a career-high 13 home runs. He leads the NL in hits with 138 and the majors in multihit games with 44.

Hernandez was hitting .319 with no home runs and 17 RBI in 30 games.
