Dusty Baker stays mum about contract
CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker is staying quiet about his contract situation.
Baker, in the last year of a three-year deal, led the Reds to the NL Central title this season for their first playoff appearance in 15 years.
There are multiple reports that Baker is closing in on a new agreement with Cincinnati, but the manager says: "Most reports are wrong. We're close. We've been close for a while. My contract is not the focal point."
Cincinnati clinched the division title with a 3-2 win over the Astros on Tuesday and was hosting Houston again Thursday night.
