PITTSBURGH -- Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski was unable to attend the first public screening of the 1960 World Series Game 7 telecast due to an undisclosed illness.

The Pirates issued a statement saying the 74-year-old Mazeroski wouldn't attend the Saturday night screening at a Pittsburgh theater. Mazeroski, who hit the only home run to decide a World Series Game 7, was to be interviewed for a DVD of the telecast.

A film of NBC-TV's telecast, not previously known to have existed, was found last year in the late entertainer Bing Crosby's wine cellar. Crosby was a part-owner of the 1960 Pirates.

The Pirates' 10-9 victory in Game 7 will be shown on the MLB Network on Dec. 15.
