D-backs reportedly add depth to team

The Arizona Diamondbacks reportedly have added depth to their roster, reaching agreements with outfielder/first baseman Xavier Nady and catcher Henry Blanco.

MLB.com reported that Arizona's deal with Nady, who played for the Chicago Cubs last season, is for one year and is expected to be announced this week.

The Arizona Republic reported that the Diamondbacks agreed to a deal with Blanco to be the team's backup catcher behind Miguel Montero. Blanco played for the New York Mets in 2010.

Nady, a career .277 hitter, hit .255 with six home runs and 33 RBIs in 119 games with Chicago last season. Blanco, a career .227 hitter, batted .215 with two homers and eight RBIs in 50 games in 2010.
