SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Padres second baseman Orlando Hudson left Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a strained left groin.
Hudson hit a dribbler down the third-base line in the seventh inning. He pulled up just before hitting first base with an infield single. Hudson immediately took himself out of the game and was replaced by Alberto Gonzalez.
Hudson was reinstated from the 15-day disabled on May 18 after being out with a strained right hamstring. He is just 2 for 21 since his return.
