DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers plan to activate Magglio Ordonez from the disabled list on Monday.

The outfielder has been out since May 10 because of weakness in his surgically repaired right ankle. He has been rehabbing with Triple-A Toledo, and the Tigers said Sunday they will call him up Monday. Detroit hosts Tampa Bay on Monday night.

The Tigers will send right-handed reliever Enrique Gonzalez outright to Toledo, ending a brief stretch in which the team has been carrying 13 pitchers.

Ordonez has struggled to recover after breaking his ankle sliding into home plate last July. He's hitting .172 with one home run and five RBIs in 26 games this season.
