Charlie Blackmon leaves game
ATLANTA -- The short-handed Colorado Rockies have lost outfielder Charlie Blackmon with a fracture in his left foot.
Blackmon left the game Thursday against the Atlanta Braves after hurting his foot while running the bases.
Blackmon hit a single in the third inning before advancing to third on Jonathan Herrera's hit-and-run single to left. Blackmon pulled up after sliding feet-first into third base. He faltered slightly while crossing second base before his left foot hit the bag first on his slide into third.
Ty Wigginton replaced Blackmon as a pinch runner and remained in the game in left field.
The Rockies are without outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, who suffered a bruised wrist on Sunday, and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who left the game Monday with a strained quadriceps.
