News: Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said he has made contract proposals to Park's representatives, but as of right now the two sides aren't "there yet," the Delaware News Journal reports. Spin: The Phillies would like to re-sign Park as a reliever, and during a news conference last week in Seoul, Park indicated he still prefers to be a starter. "In the back of his mind, maybe," Amaro said. "But after having discussions with the agent, they know his best role is as a reliever. Now, if there's somebody out there who wants to have him start, he may want to go do that. When he goes out there looking, we'll have to look elsewhere as well." |
