| Player News (last updated: November 5, 2009) |
News: Hermida has been traded to Boston for Hunter Jones and Jose Alvarez, the Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Spin: Hermida is eligible for arbitration after making $2.25 million last season, so he was too expensive for the Marlins. He's disappointed the last two seasons amid his usual injuries, but there's upside here given his strong on-base skills in the past. Being able to DH may also help him get more at-bats in Boston, but he'll likely enter 2010 as a reserve outfielder. |
