Edgar Renteria is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night. Right fielder Cody Ross was moved from eighth to sixth in the lineup.
Uribe wasn't entirely ruled out for Game 2.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy says Uribe will most likely have an MRI on Monday. Bochy says Uribe didn't feel right swinging the bat. Bochy says Uribe would take pregame fielding practice and could be available late in the game.
Bochy says he's hopeful Uribe will be available for Game 3 on Tuesday.
