Grover Cleveland Alexander
Starting Pitcher, St. Louis Cardinals
1926 World Series, Game 7

He was 39 and looked 59, but "Pete" won Game 6. Then the next day in Game 7, he was summoned in the seventh inning to pitch to Tony Lazzeri with the bases loaded. Alexander struck out Lazzeri to preserve St. Louis' lead and pitched two more scoreless innings, and they later made a movie about him.
