Sound off on the Yankees
As long as George Steinbrenner is The Boss, expectations will always be great in the Bronx, where anything less than a World Series title amounts to failure.
The Yankees have been stuck on 26 crowns since 2000 in a holding pattern of discontent. Last October's inglorious showing only reinforced how far they've fallen.
Time will tell if the Yanks rediscover the joy of popping corks. But there are signs of a revival in the rotation (see: Carl Pavano, Kei Igawa and Phil Hughes), the lineup is still stacked from top to bottom, and Mariano Rivera remains one of the best closers in the history of the game.
Do the Bombers have what it takes to be the last team standing, or will it be another disappointing finish? Let us know what you think.
