Way back in January, Jimmy Rollins claimed the Phillies were the team to beat in the NL East. He wasn't being disrespectful. Just honest.

On paper, they look awfully strong. Ryan Howard is the reigning NL MVP and will only get better. Chase Utley is a superstar in the making. And they've got the best rotation in the division.

So why not the Phillies? If Rocky Balboa can go the distance while pushing 60, nothing is beyond the realm of possibilities.

But before the City of Brotherly Love hosts any parades in October, the Phillies will have to prove their spring training showing -- injuries, poor pitching, shoddy defense -- wasn't a sign of things to come.

Can the Phillies live up to their lofty goals and make the playoffs for the first time since 1993, or will they end up making early offseason vacation plans? Let us know what you think.
