BALTIMORE (Ticker) - Mike Mussina looks to pick up a win against
his former team when the New York Yankees meet the Baltimore
Orioles on Wednesday in the rubber game of a three-game series.

Mussina (8-5, 3.95 ERA), who posted 164 wins with the Orioles
from 1991-2000, is 8-4 with a 4.00 ERA in 16 career starts
against Baltimore. The righthander has allowed just nine earned
runs over his last four starts.

The Yankees, who have dropped six of their last nine, will need
a strong performance from Mussina. New York is 13-32 this year
when its opponent scores at least four runs.

After rallying for a 6-4 victory in Monday's series opener, the
Yankees dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker Tuesday. Miguel Tejada lined
a game-tying single in the eighth inning and Brian Roberts
blasted a game-winning homer to lead off the 10th as the Orioles
snapped a season-high six-game losing streak.

Baltimore, which dropped 14 of 19 contests to New York last
season, improved to 6-2 this year against the defending American
League East champions. The Orioles have outscored the Yankees,
56-36, over that span.

Rookie Hayden Penn (2-1, 6.07) makes his seventh start for the
Orioles. The 20-year-old righthander hopes to rebound from his
worst start of the season. He yielded seven runs and eight hits
- both season highs - in just two innings against the Atlanta
Braves on Friday.
