Rookie LHP Duke puts unbeaten record on line against Oswalt

Pittsburgh (49-66) at Houston (62-52), 8:05 pm EDT

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Rookie sensation Zack Duke puts his unbeaten record on the line against All-Star Roy Oswalt when the Pittsburgh Pirates face the Houston Astros on Friday.

Duke (5-0, 1.54 ERA) has made seven starts since July 2 and did not yield an earned run in five of them. But the 22-year-old lefthander gave up four runs and 10 hits in 7 1/3 innings of a win against Los Angeles on Saturday.

Duke has lasted at least seven innings in all of his outings.

Oswalt (14-9, 2.46) is fourth in the major leagues in ERA and is 10-1 in 12 home starts.

After winning eight of his previous nine starts, Oswalt is winless in his last two outings, including Saturday's 5-2 loss at San Francisco when he gave up four runs - three earned - in seven innings.

Oswalt yielded two runs in seven innings of a 2-0 loss at Pittsburgh on April 25.
