PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Brian Moehler seeks his first win of the
year when the Florida Marlins face the Pittsburgh Pirates in the
finale of a three-game series on Sunday.Moehler (0-4, 9.76 ERA) will be on the mound for the Marlins.
The 34-year-old righthander lost his last decision with a 10-2
setback to Atlanta on Tuesday in which he gave up seven runs and
seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.In six starts against the Pirates, Moehler has a 2-3 record with
a 5.72 ERA.Pittsburgh will counter with righthander Ian Snell (2-2, 4.65),
who will be making his debut against Florida. In his last
outing, a 3-0 victory over Arizona on Tuesday, Snell worked
seven innings while yielding five hits and one walk.The Pirates opened the series with a 12-9 triumph on Friday
behind four RBI from Jason Bay. On Saturday, the Marlins posted
a 4-3 win, thanks to the stellar pitching of Scott Olsen, who
struck out nine while allowing three runs and six hits in six
frames. Miguel Cabrera and Hanley Ramirez had run-scoring hits.
