Atlanta (21-21) at Arizona (23-18) 9:40 pm EDT
PHOENIX (Ticker) --
Brandon Webb gets another chance to open
the campaign with a 7-0 record Saturday when the Arizona
Diamondbacks host the
Atlanta Braves.
Looking to tie Detroit's
Kenny Rogers for the major league lead
in wins, Webb (6-0, 2.78 ERA) did not get a decision last
Monday against San Diego after yielding five runs and 10 hits
in six innings.
Making his 10th start, Webb has had terrific control this
season, giving up seven walks in 64 innings, including two in
his last 36 frames over five outings.
The Braves are expected to call upon
Travis Smith (NR), who
makes his season debut after being recalled from Class AAA
Richmond. He was 3-1 with a 2.91 ERA in eight starts in the
International League this year.
Craig Counsell capped a two-run ninth inning with an RBI single
and
Jeff DaVanon belted a three-run homer as the Diamondbacks
rallied from a five-run deficit in Friday's 10-9 victory over
Atlanta.
Adam LaRoche hit his second career grand slam and drove in a
career-high five runs for the Braves.
