LA Dodgers (27-21) at Washington (20-29) 1:20 pm EDT
WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The
Washington Nationals look for their
fifth win a row Saturday when they host the
Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Nationals won their season-high fourth straight game Friday,
defeating the Dodgers 10-3.
Ryan Zimmerman led the Nationals
with a pair of doubles and three RBI.
Nick Johnson went
2-for-2 and scored three runs and
Alfonso Soriano hit his 17th
home run of the season for Washington, which improved to 6-2 on
its current homestand.
A 2005 first-round pick, Zimmerman is batting .293 at RFK
Stadium, including .333 (8-for-24) on the current homestand.
Derek Lowe (2-3, 3.08 ERA) will start for the Dodgers and is
coming off his best start of the season in last Saturday's 7-0
triumph over the
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He pitched seven
innings and posted a season-high seven strikeouts in his first
victory since April 13.
Shawn Hill (NR) makes his first start of the season for the
Nationals in place of
Zach Day, who is on the disabled list with
right shoulder tendinitis. The 25-year-old Hill started one game
for Class AAA New Orleans, giving up two runs in five frames.
