WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Rookie Michael O'Connor and the Washington
Nationals will try to avoid consecutive losses to the Colorado
Rockies on Tuesday in the second game of their four-game series.O'Connor (3-3, 3.04 ERA) will take the ball in search of his
second straight win after yielding two runs and three hits in
six innings during a 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies
on Thursday.This start will mark the first appearance for O'Connor against
Colorado.The Rockies opened their seven-game road trip on a positive note
as they posted a 4-3 victory here in the series opener on
Monday. Catcher J.D. Closser scored once, had two hits and
drove in the go-head run during the win.Colorado will turn to Josh Fogg (3-4, 5.21) on Tuesday. Fogg
was tagged for eight runs through only 4 1/3 innings but did not
figure into the decision in Wednesday's win against the
Pittsburgh Pirates.The 29-year-old righthander is 0-3 with a 3.19 ERA in five
career starts against the Nationals and is winless in his last
three outings overall. In his past six road starts, Fogg is 2-2
with a 4.73 ERA.
