    Research Notes

Freddie Freeman has hit .456 against fastballs thrown by right-handers this season, which ranks second in all of MLB. Freeman will take his cuts Thursday against Reds starter Mat Latos, who throws fastballs on 60 percent of his pitches to lefties and allows a .287 batting average in those situations.
Freddie Freeman had a hit in his first three at-bats Thursday and already has a season-high 4 RBI through just four innings. It's the third time in Freeman's career that he's had at least 4 RBI in a game.
