BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- The finale of a four-game series between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and New York Yankees was postponed by rain.

With rain falling in the New York area yet again, the game was called less than 30 minutes after its scheduled 1:05 p.m. EDT start.

It was the Yankees' third home postponement during an extremely wet spring. The other two were in April, including one against the Devil Rays that was made up Tuesday as part of a day-night doubleheader.

This one also was rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on September 13 during Tampa Bay's last visit to the Bronx.

New York has won five of eight meetings between the teams this season.

The Yankees are scheduled to begin a three-game interleague series with the rival New York Mets on Friday at Shea Stadium, although it is expected to rain all weekend.

The wet weather could force the Yankees and Mets to play a home-and-home series on the same day, with the series shifting to the Bronx next weekend.

The Devil Rays visit the Florida Marlins for three games.
