ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Erubiel Durazo is getting comfortable with his new spot in the Oakland lineup.

Durazo hit two home runs and Jose Guillen also homered as Oakland beat the Texas Rangers 9-3 Saturday night, the Athletics' fifth win in a row.

"We've tried a lot of different lineups," Oakland manager ken Macha said. "Now it's settled down. We're trying to stack hitters where they'll do the best. We put Durazo second to take advantage of his on-base threat. Now he's getting more balls to hit."

Durazo homered in the first to get the offense started. He added his 19th homer, a two-run blast in the ninth off Jay Powell, to stretch the lead to 9-3.

"Durazo started it and Durazo finished it," Macha said. "He's really thriving in the 2-hole."

Durazo had his seventh career multihomer game and is 12-for-27 (.444) over his last seven games.

The Athletics led 4-3 heading into the eighth inning before scoring five runs over the final two innings.

Miguel Tejada led off the eighth with a single off reliever Reynaldo Garcia, went to second on a wild pitch, and scored on Scott Hatteberg's single to make it 5-3. Guillen followed with his seventh homer for the A's and his 30th of the season.

Guillen, who had three hits, had 23 homers for Cincinnati this season before a July 30 trade sent him to Oakland.

Based on how he felt before the game, Guillen didn't think he was going to have a very productive night.

"I was embarrassing myself in BP," Guillen said. "But I went to the plate and saw the ball much better. Hopefully this will get me going."

Oakland starter Tim Hudson (15-6) gave up three runs and six hits over the first two innings but was still able to end a personal two-game losing streak, his longest of the season.

Jermaine Dye's fourth-inning single drove in Guillen from second base to give the A's a 4-3 lead. Dye also had a run-scoring single in the second for Oakland, which entered the night with a 2{-game lead over Seattle in the AL West.

Hudson allowed three runs and seven hits over six innings. He struck out six and walked two.

"I wasn't really into the game the first couple of innings," Hudson said. "It was weird out there. My location wasn't there. But once I got into some jams, I started pitching better."

Ricardo Rincon and Chad Bradford combined to throw three shutout innings in relief for Oakland.

Alex Rodriguez drove in two runs for the Rangers, who've lost eight of nine.

"We did a decent job against Hudson but there isn't much margin for error against this team," Rangers manager Buck Showalter said. "They have a lot of weapons."

The A's grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning against R.A. Dickey (8-8) on Durazo's homer.

Texas had three consecutive hits against Hudson, capped by Rodriguez's two-run single.

Oakland came back to take a 3-2 lead in the second on RBI singles by Dye and Mark Ellis.

The Rangers tied it at 3 in the second on Jermaine Clark's run-scoring single, his first major league hit and RBI. Clark had gone hitless in his first 16 at bats.

Dickey allowed four runs and six hits over four innings.
