MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Troy Glaus, Shawn Green and Koyie Hill drove in first-inning runs to help the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago Cubs 6-4 on Friday.

Russ Ortiz worked three innings for Arizona, giving up five hits and two runs.

Quinton McCracken led off the game with a single off left-hander John Koronka, and took second on Royce Clayton' single. Koronka hit Luis Gonzalez with a pitch to load the bases, and Glaus singled to bring McCracken home. Green scored Clayton on a forceout, and Hill's sacrifice fly gave Arizona its three-run lead.

The Cubs answered with two in the bottom of the inning. With two outs, Nomar Garciaparra singled. He then stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error. Aramis Ramirez singled Garciaparra home and Jeromy Burnitz followed with an RBI single.

Koronka gave up four hits and three runs in two innings. ^Notes:@ LHP Mike Remlinger made his spring debut for the Cubs. He gave up a leadoff single to Clayton in the fourth before retiring the next three batters. Remlinger had surgery on his left shoulder following the 2003 season and missed most of the first two months of last season.
