    PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) -- Brett Tomko pitched five strong innings to lead San Francisco to a 5-3 win over San Diego on Tuesday.

    Tomko allowed two earned runs on seven hits and didn't walk a batter in the win. Jesse Foppert struck out five in three innings of relief, and Jim Brower earned the save.

    The Giants got an insurance run in the ninth when Adam Shabala led off the inning with a homer to center off Brian Falkenborg.

    Brian Dallimore went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Tony Torcato had an RBI triple for San Francisco.

    The Padres had their seven-game winning streak in the Cactus League halted.

    Angel Tovar took the loss after relieving Adam Eaton, who allowed an earned run in five innings.

    Brian Giles had three hits, including a double, for the Padres.
