MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Kevin Jarvis was summoned out of minor-league camp Sunday and pitched the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

The Diamondbacks scored twice in the first inning against Cubs starter Jae Kuk Ryu, who is battling for a roster spot. Orlando Hudson doubled with one out and took third base on a wild pitch by Ryu.

Chad Tracy followed with a sacrifice fly. Luis Gonzalez doubled and then scored on a single by Conor Jackson.

Ryu pitched three innings, giving up five hits and two runs. He didn't walk a batter. He struck out three.

The Diamondbacks got a solo homer in the fifth inning from Hudson off Cubs reliever Michael Wuertz.
