FRISCO, Texas (AP) -- Mark Teixeira homered for the third
straight game, and Brad Wilkerson and David Dellucci also connected
to lead the Texas Rangers past the Florida Marlins 4-1 Friday
night.
Teixeira, who had 43 homers last season, hit a two-run shot in
the third to give Texas a 3-0 lead. He had not homered in his first
31 at-bats this spring before going on his current streak.
Texas starter
Kameron Loe allowed one run and struck out two in
four innings. He have up three hits and walked two.
Florida starter
Brian Moehler yielded four runs and seven hits
in five innings. He had one strikeout and didn't walk a batter.
Wilkerson led off the game with his fourth homer of the spring,
off Moehler. Dellucci added a solo drive -- his fifth -- in the
fourth.
Florida's
Mike Jacobs led off the fourth with his third homer.
Loe's solid effort was a boost for Texas' rotation.
Adam Eaton has a strained tendon in the middle finger on his
pitching hand, the same injury that put him on the disabled list
twice last season with San Diego. Though Eaton was not placed on
the DL Friday, Texas manager Buck Showalter adjusted his rotation
to make
Vicente Padilla the No. 2 starter.
The Rangers traded
Juan Dominguez, a candidate to fill the void
left by Eaton, to the
Oakland Athletics on Friday.
With the Rangers leading 1-0, Loe escaped a bases-loaded jam
when
Miguel Cabrera popped up to end the third.
