OAKLAND AT KANSAS CITY, POSTPONED (RAIN)

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The game between the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals was postponed due to rain as the Royals were batting in the bottom of third inning with a 6-1 lead.

The Royals were well on their way to snapping an 11-game home losing streak to the Athletics. After a single and two walks in the first inning, Reggie Sanders hit a grand slam off Oakland starter Esteban Loaiza.

Loaiza, who entered with an 0-3 record, allowed five runs, six walks and a grand slam in one-plus innings.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 18.
