DETROIT (AP) -- Yankees manager Joe Torre could tell right away it was going to be a good night for Mike Mussina.
The veteran right-hander threw his first complete game of the season, taking a shutout into the ninth to lead New York to a 6-1 victory Wednesday night over the Detroit Tigers and a third straight win against the team with the best record in the majors."Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," Torre said. "He threw a lot of strikes."| Elias Says |
