TORONTO (AP) -- The New York Mets' latest victory might have come at a heavy price.

Tom Glavine became baseball's first 11-game winner, David Wright hit a three-run homer and New York beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 on Friday night to set a club record with its ninth straight victory on the road.

Lastings Milledge also homered for the Mets, and Glavine (11-2) pitched seven strong innings to win his ninth consecutive decision. But setup man Duaner Sanchez, a key part of New York's stellar bullpen, left after only two pitches with an injury.

Sanchez said he felt a shock in his neck and felt the sensation all the way to his fingertips on a wayward pitch in the eighth inning. He crouched down behind the mound and came out of the game without even trying a test pitch.

"It's something I've never felt before. It was like a shock. I don't want to take a chance," Sanchez said. "Right now I'm fine. I'm not worried about it."

Sanchez said a couple pitchers told him it's a normal thing caused by tightness.

Tony Bernazard, special assistant to the general manager, said the Mets will send Sanchez to New York on Saturday for further evaluation and an MRI.

Bernazard said the team didn't have an indication of how serious the problem is.

"He's been huge for us. He's been awesome," catcher Paul Lo Duca said. "You don't want to lose a guy like that for an extended period of time."

Carlos Delgado went 0-for-3 with a walk in his first game against his former team. Delgado doffed his helmet when he received a standing ovation before his first at-bat.

Delgado, Toronto's career leader in home runs and RBI, left as a free agent two years ago after the club didn't offer him a multiyear contract.

"It was a warm welcome. It's nice to feel appreciated for what you do and what you've done. It made me feel really good," Delgado said.

Xavier Nady hit an RBI triple with two outs in the first. Wright, who homered twice in Thursday's 6-2 victory over Cincinnati, gave New York 4-0 lead in the third with his 18th homer, a shot to left off starter Casey Janssen (5-6).

Wright has 13 RBI in the last six games and 63 for the season in 72 games.

"Last year it seems like we just couldn't win the road. This year we know we are good and can win on the road," said Wright, whose team went 35-46 away from home last season. "We have the same attitude on the road as we do at home."

Glavine allowed just one run and eight hits, striking out four and walking one. The 40-year-old left-hander is 9-0 in 11 starts since losing to San Francisco on April 24.

"He'll carve you up," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "He'll give up his hits but you can't knock him out."

Glavine had struggled in Toronto before, losing both of his starts and posting a 7.71 ERA.

"We've got that comfort zone on the road for whatever reason," he said.

Glavine said he's still not pitching as well as he did earlier in the year because his mechanics are off. He allowed at least four runs in each of his previous three starts.

"I'm still not where I want to be," Glavine said. "I've been able to make decent pitches when I had to. I'm not 100 percent comfortable, but it's getting closer. By no means do I feel as good as earlier in the year, but the offense takes heat off you by scoring runs early."

Chad Bradford replaced Sanchez and worked a scoreless eighth before Pedro Feliciano finished up.

Alex Rios drove in the lone run for the Blue Jays, who won their previous three games.

Lo Duca and Carlos Beltran singled in the third before Wright homered off the facing of the second deck. Milledge hit a solo shot off Janssen in the fourth, giving New York a 5-0 lead.

Janssen lost his third straight start. He allowed five runs and eight hits in six innings -- the third consecutive time he's allowed at least five runs.

Reed Johnson tripled in the sixth and scored on Rios' sacrifice fly.

Lo Duca hit an RBI double to right in the seventh to make it 6-1. He tried to stretch it into a triple but was easily thrown out. He veered off the basepath, knowing he was a dead duck.

Gibbons was one of three first-round picks the Mets had in 1980. The others were Darryl Strawberry and Oakland general manager Billy Beane. ... Milledge made a nice over-the-shoulder catch at the wall in left in the seventh. ... Sanchez is 4-0 with a 2.43 ERA.
