TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Eric Byrnes does more than hustle. He can hit, too.

Byrnes went 3-for-3 with an opposite-field home run Sunday, boosting his spring training batting average to .450 and leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 10-7 victory over the San Diego Padres.

"One thing you know is that Eric Byrnes' approach and the way he plays the game is going to be a constant every game," Arizona manager Bob Melvin said. "The guy brings it every day. I tell him what time the game is at, and where he is at in the lineup, and that's about all you need to tell him."

Byrnes, who is 9-for-20 this spring, also scored twice. The Diamondbacks' left fielder put together the best season of his seven-year major league career in 2006, setting career marks for homers, RBI and stolen bases.

Orlando Hudson went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored to push his average to .316.

San Diego outfielder Jose Cruz Jr., a former Diamondback, went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Rob Bowen added two hits, including a two-run homer off starter Evan MacLane.
