Game notes
Joel Zumaya visited the Tigers after having the cast removed from the middle finger of his pitching hand. Zumaya, who underwent surgery in May to fix a dislocated tendon, hopes to be pitching again in about six weeks. ... Fielder played in Detroit for the first time Tuesday, but not in the stadium where he spent much of his childhood. Fielder was a frequent visitor to the home clubhouse at Tiger Stadium when his father, Cecil, was with the team between 1990-96. Prince Fielder, who is estranged from his father, did not speak to the media before the game. ... Counsell's team was also no-hit last year when he was playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Anibal Sanchez did it against them.
