• Summary: Aramis Ramirez lifted the Cubs over the Brewers 6-5 with a two-out, two-run homer in the ninth.
• Quotable: "This is the team we have to beat, Milwaukee, and try to get close. ... When we win the game and I come in, everybody is jumping around because that was pretty special -- the way we win and we beat the first-place team." -- Ramirez • Unsung heroes: After giving up five runs in the first, starter Rich Hill worked with the Chicago bullpen to shut out Milwaukee on five hits the rest of the way. • Winning ways: The Cubs are riding their first seven-game win streak since May 27-June 2, 2005. • Oh-oh for Coco: Brewers closer Francisco Cordero blew just his third save in 30 tries this season. • Figure this: Milwaukee was 43-1 when leading after eight innings. -- ESPN.com news services |
