After 60 years at the camp, the Dodgers are set to move next year to an $80 million complex that they'll share with the Chicago White Sox in Glendale, Ariz. The Dodgers play the Marlins at Jupiter, Fla., on Tuesday and wrap up spring training out west.
Tommy Lasorda finished 1-6 in his managing stint with the Dodgers. The 80-year-old Hall of Famer ran the team while Joe Torre took a split-squad to China.
"It was great while it lasted," Lasorda said. "I'm so thankful to have gotten this opportunity. I hope the players learned something while I was here."
Lasorda tried his best to win his finale. He put runners in motion, called for Gary Bennett to put down a suicide squeeze and used All-Star Russell Martin as a pinch hitter during a ninth-inning rally.
Furcal got up with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth, but grounded out.
