Orioles-Rangers game postponed by rain, threat of severe weather

4/9/2008

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Rain and the threat of severe weather forced the postponement of the game between the Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Thursday evening, starting at 5:05 EDT. The three-game series is the Orioles' only scheduled trip to Texas this season; Baltimore won the opener 8-1 on Tuesday, ruining the Rangers' home opener.

Baltimore (6-1) has the American League's best record and a six-game winning streak, already matching its longest streak of last season. The last time the Orioles were 7-1 was 1998.
